Sunday School/Registration

Superintendent: Diane Schultz

You can home school first communion at home.  Then when we are able to return to worship together, you can have your first communion or if you want you can schedule a Sunday that works for you all.

1.  Read Exodus CLICK HERE

a. Underline each instance of "blood", "bread" and "Passover"

2.  Read Lord's Supper passages CLICK HERE

a. In each passage, underline "blood, "wine", "body", "Passover", "bread", "for you".

3.  Read the Small Catechism on the Lord's Supper CLICK HERE

a.  As parents, tell about your first communion

b. When has communion been especially meaningful for you?  When did that happen?

4.  Bake communion bread  CLICK HERE

a.  Freeze some so we can use it at church when we can start having communion again.

b.  Make sure you sample some too.

If you take time with your child to do this over a couple of sit-down times, then when we get together, you can also take communion with your family.

Communion should not be delayed, no matter what the circumstances.  This is so we can keep going, so that when we are on the other side of this, we'll be good to go.

Let me know if you have any questions.  I can also meet with you over a Zoom meeting once you have completed the above learning opportunites.

Blessings - Pastor Rolf

At Central we have Sunday school for children in 4k-5th grades. It is every Sunday from September through May from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. All children meet in the basement of the church.

So this is what Rotational Sunday school is:

In a rotational setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for four weeks. Each week, children rotate to a different learning station. The story remains the same, but the children encounter it in different ways in each station. Repetition is an important part of the rotation approach. The more ways children explore a story or concept the more it is reinforced in their memories. The variety of experiences keeps interest high throughout the unit. Teachers teach the same lesson, with age-level adjustments, for the length of the rotation. Rotational learning is exciting for students and teachers alike, as teachers teach to their strengths and students experience Bible stories in ways they learn best. Choices for workshops are movie, cooking, art, and games. The 4k class has music the first half and goes to their room for the second half. The 5k-2nd grade classes start with music with Diane Schultz and then go to their rotation which is Craft, Movie, and Kitchen. The 3rd-5th grade classes start with their rotation which is Games, Movie, and Kitchen and then go to music with Diane.

We do have a lot of volunteers that help make this run each week and every year we could always use more. If you are interested in helping, please call Diane Schultz at 715-926-5370. We have signup sheets on the bulletin board in the church during the summer and downstairs when Sunday School begins.
